Course Review - What legislation supports course review?
30A.101 a school district is eligible tp act as a provider school district if the district is rated academically acceptable or higher and an open-enrollment charter school is eligible to act as a provider school if the campus is rated recognized or higher.
30A.102 requires the administering authority to evaluate electronic courses submitted by a provider school district or school to be offered through the network.
30A.103 requires the State Board of Education (SBOE) to establish objective criteria for an electronic course to ensure alignment with the essential knowledge and skills and authorizes the Commissioner to establish additional quality-related criteria for electronic courses.
30A.114 states that the commissoner by rule shall allow regional education service centers to participate in the state virtual school network in the same manner as provider school districts and schools.
TAC 74.23 require all distance learning courses to meet 100% of the essential knowledge and skills for that course.
